Fun Places in Bell

There are wonderful places to go and things to do for fun in the City of Bell that we know you’ll enjoy. The places you can go are pizza entertainment restaurants and different parks in Bell.
     Our most popular place for pizza is Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Parlor. There are fun games to play such as skeetle ball and video games. There is a jungle gym to climb on and slide down the slide. You can have your birthday party celebrated there, also. They can sing “Happy Birthday to You” and Chuck E. Cheese can dance with you. It is mostly for little kids. However, another fun place to go is Peter Piper Pizza. It’s like Chuck E. Cheese but Peter Piper Pizza has more entertainment, cool video games, slides, and jungle gyms. It’s more fun for older kids, such as third grade and beyond. Wait, there ’s more!

    If you are looking for a place to play baseball or soccer, then the City of Bell has six great parks. They are Little Bear Park, Debs’ Park, Veteran’s Park, Nueva Vista Park, Treder Park, and Pritchard Field. Little Bear Park is a small but very fun park. In the summer, the wadding pool is open for swimming. There are nice benches you can eat on or you can have a picnic on the little grassy hill. You can go on the slides, tire swing, or jungle gym. There’s also a recreational room for games and crafts. It’s pretty good place for a kid like you. The best thing is that it’s right across the street from Corona Ave. School! Veteran’s Park on Gage Avenue and Wilcox Avenue is much larger than Little Bear Park. It’s fun too because it has a tennis court to play tennis, basketball courts to play basketball, and a recreational room for games and crafts.
     The best thing about Bell is that there ’s always someplace you can go for fun with your family or friends.

Historical Places in Bell

Our City of Bell is very special because it has three important historical buildings in our community. They are the James George Bell House, Bell High School, and Corona Avenue Elementary School.

Bell House, 4401 Gage Avenue, Built 1876: It is a two-story blue and white house. It has been restored and repainted and now is located at the corner of Pine and Gage Avenue. On the top floor, there is a museum of antique clothing, furniture, photos, dishes and other things of the time that James George Bell lived in the house with his family. James George Bell was the founder of the City of Bell, which was incorporated as a city on November 7, 1927.

Bell High School, 4328 Bell Avenue, Built 1925: It is a huge high school with over 4,500 students and 250 teachers. It was built by Robert F. Train. Bell High has tall trees that were planted in front of the school more than 70 years ago. The trees were a gift from George Wheeler who was then the owner of the newspaper, Industrial Post.

Corona Avenue Elemenary, 3825 Bell Avenue, Built 1935: Corona Elementary was rebuilt by Richard Nuetra in 1935, after the 1933 Long Beach earthquake which nearly destroyed two story brick school house. It was built as an experimental school because it had its own courtyard and large sliding glass patio doors. It was a model for other schools around the nation. The large glass patio doors have since been removed to make room for the new building in 1986.
